Welcome to the parish of St George and Our Lady Queen of Peace. Working together since the summer of 2015, this parish community has a history that goes back to the time the Society of Jesus founded the parish of St George's in 1590.
It is a flourishing and vibrant community with two churches. St George's located near the town center is the 'mother church' of the area and has links to the composer Sir Edward Elgar. Our Lady Queen of Peace was founded in 1948, the church opening in 1953, and serves the St John's area of the city. Our parish community has lots to offer and we hope that these pages will be useful to you as together we live out our faith.
